For the Record

Why did the Europeans who arrived in North America succeed in advancing their culture while the natives of that continent failed to develop with the times? A landmass so rich in resources and yet those who had lived on it and off it for thousands of years, many scores of generations, had neither realised what was beneath their feet, nor what to do with it when they discovered it. Such a huge area and yet they had to walk to access any part of it beyond their own locality. It took the arrival of the Spanish with their horses before the indigenous tribes had the luxury of the transport system that we in the west mistakenly (or conveniently forgetfully) concluded had been there all the time.

Why did the Arabs, particularly those in the Gulf States, the people who were native to the sands of those territories, go through their lives with so little, for so much of their history, blissfully unaware of the black gold that would revolutionise and fuel the world for generations, lay in enormous reservoirs beneath the soles of their sandals? Again it was the Europeans who discovered it, exploited it and made themselves and the Arabs prosperous. Why were the tribes of southern Africa not mining the diamonds, gold and other metals that would eventually underpin the global economy? Why did it require the arrival of the white man on that continent for the magnitude and value of these commodities to be realised?

The same series of events occurred on the open spaces of Australia and in the vast hinterland of Russia, where for thousands of years tribes of mongoloid peoples had survived somewhat primitively before they were consumed by the expanding empire of the Tsars. The emperors of Russia were Europeans and it was only after their subjects headed east, into the endless forests and tundra, that the gifts of nature were fully utilised for the benefit of the citizenry (or not!).

The ingenuity of the white man is unique among the peoples of the world. Yes, the tribals and non-European populations had mastered their traditional skills on their ancestral lands. Yes, they had learned to live off the land, to survive in a sometimes hostile environment, but so too had the white man, before he made such significant leaps forward. Should we be impressed by people who lacked the intellectual capacity to move forward into the future, to improve upon the skills that all men and women were endowed with at one point in their development? Or is it just patronising of westerners to assume that they still have some knowledge that the Europeans do not? Europeans had those skills, some of them still do, however they just learned how to go beyond them and develop their lands and their minds to the point where these natural instincts and the skills honed over generations, became redundant and on the whole forgotten.

To this day, in spite of all our advancements in the west there are those among us who remember this history; who have recorded it, researched it, relearned and retaught it, based on the evidence left by time. We have the best of both worlds because of our intellectual superiority. Non-Europeans cannot honestly claim the same and history, as well as the evidence of the present day demonstrate this quite clearly.

Flooding Europe, North America and Australia with immigrants from Africa and southern/western Asia, who on average have demonstrably lower intelligence, is neither the answer to the problems that face them nor indeed, that confront the Europeans in the twenty first century. Non-Europeans must improve themselves on their own soil. They must lift their nations up and out from the mire which they themselves have largely created. Ignorance is not bliss, it is a curse. It is high time that European people, where ever they find themselves, exorcise the demon that is political correctness and begin to roll back the tide of immigration before it drowns the culture that has given the world almost everything that is worthwhile.
